Along with the iPhone 5 and a new generation of the iPod Touch and Nano, Apple’s San Francisco event also saw the unveiling of a new version of iTunes.
The company’s digital media software has undergone a complete redesign, now featuring improved performance and a tweaked layout. A new, less intrusive mini-player has been included, playlist creation has been made simpler and a library search function and iCloud support have been added to iTunes.
New views for the library and expanded album options and a new Mac/PC interface are also going to be part of the new iTunes. In addition Apple will be tweaking the iTunes Store, App Store and iBookstore, simplifying browsing and displaying a history of previously-viewed items.
The newest version of iTunes will become available in October.
