A partnership between British Airways and a company called Designworks might result in reusable electronic luggage tags being made available to travelers. The luggage tags will use e-ink technology and through the use of your smartphone will update with your baggage and destination info.
The tags are not available to the public yet but are being handed out to employees for a three-month trial, after which the design will be finalized and being made available some time in 2014.
British Airways is supposedly developing this tech to help travelers reduce their time spent in the airport, estimating that passengers will be able to drop off their bags in just 35 seconds with the use of the new tag.
