What do you mean, you’ve never played Day of the Tentacle? If you’ve never played DoTT or, worse, never even heard of it then you’ve lost out on a large portion of gaming’s best moments. Luckily, there is a way to rectify any failings related to this point-and-click adventure title.
DoTT creator Tim Schafer, who is the current head of Double Fine Studios, announced this past weekend – while talking about the remake of Grim Fandango due to launch soon – that the developer is working on a Special Edition of Day of the Tentacle that is expected to launch in 2015.
We’re not sure yet how Double Fine will be able to improve Day of the Tentacle but we do know that it’ll be launching for the PC (Windows, Linux and Mac) as well as the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita next year. We just hope they don’t make too many modifications to what was a nigh-perfect, and utterly hilarious, game.
Grim Fandango was also given a release date at the PlayStation Experience this past weekend. We will be rejoining Manny Calavera in the Land of the Dead from 27 January next year.
