Sudden changes in weather may cause a fashion photo-shoot to turn into a wet t-shirt party, but the photographer wont be able to chronicle the event, as he’ll have to pack up his equipment to shield it from Mother Nature’s fury. Fujifilm has recognised this issue and have released a weather-resistant bridge camera as well as a pair of XF lenses with the same properties.
The FinePix S1 is fitted with one of Fuji’s Fusion 50x optical zoom lens, wireless communication and a Full HD movie function. This little bridge camera’s inside is protected from water and dust with a lens-body integrated design that features sealing on about 70 areas on the camera, according to the company. When shooting in the dark, the S1 can capture clear pictures using its 1/2.3-inch 16.4 megapixel backlit CMOS sensor.
After you download the Fujifilm Camera Remote app on your smartphone or tablet, you will be able to remotely control your camera through WiFi-and even pictures from the camera to your mobile device. The Full HD Movie action is improved and made possible by Fuji’s 5-Axis Image Stabilization and 3D Noise Reduction features.
Fujifilm has also released the FUJINON XF18-135mm F3.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR. This is an extremely capable lens for any extreme weather conditions. With a wide shooting range of 27mm wide-angle to 206mm telephoto, the XF18-135 lens is applicable to any and all branches of photography.
No more worries about shielding your equipment from the rain or a sudden dust storm. Just remember that models aren’t waterproof…
