Dust off the neon furry boots and ready the glow sticks because Huawei South Africa has announced it will sponsor the second edition of Ultra South Africa, a massive dance party held in Cape Town and Johannesburg in February that’s expected to attract around 40 000 electronic dance music fans.
The sponsorship is courtesy of the recently established Huawei Culture Club that, disappointingly, appears to have nothing to do with Boy George trying to make it big in China.
Headliners for this second installment of Ultra include Armin van Buuren, Axwell^Ingrosso, Hardwell, Martin Garixx, DVBBS, Gorgon City and Oliver Heldens. See the full lineup here.
“With Ultra being the largest Electronic Dance Event in the world, it falls in line and resonates with our brand,” says Yudi Rambaran, Huawei’s product marketing director for South Africa. “Huawei encourages people to live large and experience life boldly. Like our latest large screen devices, Ultra allows you not only to broaden your horizons but also to see more, do more and experience more.”
Huawei Culture Club users will get immediate access to exclusive Ultra ticket discounts, giveaways, DJ content and news via a dedicated mobile app for Android devices (an iOS version is expected to follow soon) and “physical experiential zones at the events”. Users will get a R100 discount on Ultra tickets if they buy them through the Huawei Culture Club app.
