Huawei’s Ascend P6, which was billed as the world’s thinnest smartphone when it was announced last month, has now been officially launched in South Africa.
Huawei’s Ascend P6 measures just 6.18mm and somehow fits a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 5MP front-facing camera, 2,000mAh battery and a 4.7-inch display into that profile. The P6 runs Android 4.2.2. The phone was presented at an event today in Sandton in Johannesburg.
MTN will be the first of South Africa’s mobile carriers to offer the smartphone, becoming available from today. Vodacom and Cell C will only be getting the Ascend P6 in stores from September.
