Nokia’s Lumia 900 is almost available to South African customers, provided they are keen on an MTN contract. Nokia and MTN have partnered to bring the latest Lumia smartphone to local shores and, from 28 June, potential buyers can pick it up on an MTN Anytime 200 (R369 per month) contract.
In addition the first 200 customers to snag the Lumia 900 will be able to get their hands on limited edition phones embossed with the Batman logo but only at specific stores. These stores are: the MTN stores at Morningside (Johannesburg), Gateway (Durban), Canal Walk (Cape Town) and Port Elizabeth.
The Lumia 900 features a 1.4 GHz Scorpion CPU, Adreno 205 GPU, 480 x 800 AMOLED display and pretty much all of the other features you’d expect from a smartphone including an 8MP camera, GPS and DC-HSPA.
The Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) device will come with “…specifically tailored MTN applications, services and solutions built for the Windows Phone platform, which ensures that MTN customers are able to gain full access to MTN’s value added services”, according to MTN’s chief marketing officer Serame Taukobong.
