Samsung have unveiled their 55″ production model OLED television sets at the Samsung Premium TV Showcase in Korea. Prototypes of the 55″ ES9500 OLED TV were seen at CES this year and the company has not wasted any time getting it ready for retail.
The new model will be following in the footsteps of previously released Smart TVs, featuring Smart Interaction gesture controls, Smart Content app support and the Smart Evolution upgradeable dual core CPUs in addition to the new feature, Dual View.
Dual View will allow two people to watch “two channels in full-screen mode at once, in full HD, and [they] can also hear each program separately in stereo through earphones attached to 3D glasses.” Users won’t be able to watch channels in this manner in 3D but that’s a small price to pay for simultaneous viewing.
Samsung also announced a new range of larger Smart TV sets at the event, ranging in size from 60″ to 75″. Pricing and availability were not announced.
