Samsung’s Galaxy Note 5 has been tipped for an August 2015 reveal for some time now and there’s now a firmer date for the unveiling of Samsung’s new phablet. The date is 12 August, according to website SamMobile which cites detailed leaked to Korean news outlets.
The reveal is expected to take place at an event in New York, where it will apparently be sharing the stage with Samsung’s Galaxy S6 Edge Plus – though it seems that Samsung might style the curve-screened update as the Galaxy S6 Edge+ instead.
Also launching at the same time will be the American arrival of the company’s Samsung Pay solution. As for the handsets, those will reportedly be available in the States from 21 August, ahead of Apple’s new iPhone announcement.
Though the early launch of their phablet flagship might be happening, the release may not be global. SamMobile, in a separate report, expresses doubts that Samsung’s handset pair will be launching in all territories at the same time. The reasoning is that Samsung Europe and Russia don’t appear to be working on the phone’s software, which could indicate a delay to market in locations this side of the world.
