Doom is often credited as being the major influence in the first-person shooter gaming genre. Now is has another claim to fame (in addition to the violence and blood it is known for) in that it’s the first game which can be controlled using a piano.
Called the Doom Piano, the creation of a group of game developers, the odd controller uses copper tape and I-PAC keyboard encoders to control a computer running gaming classic Doom. The computer is inside the piano, the action is onscreen and movement and combat within the game is controlled by the piano’s keyboard.
The black keys on the piano all fire the game’s weapons while sections of the white keys move the player forward, back or allow for strafing.
